Day 17 (5.5 miles & 700 vertical feet)
Today was a short day into Fontana Dam, which is more of a resort than a town. As we were hiking along the ridge line 2,500' above the lake below, it was cool to see the fog over the lake (pic 1).
In pic 2 I am showing off my fancy hiker tan, which simply washed away in the shower.
There were about 20 hikers milling around the 5 washers & dryers this afternoon. I got to catch up with a few hikers I hadn't seen in a while. In the evening, a few of us went over to have some frozen pizza with some friends.
I look forward to a zero day tomorrow, as my legs need a rest, but I am sad that it means my friends will be going ahead without me.
